ALSO, CALIBRATE FREQUENTLY. This is my 3rd one (we run two daily, one in the closet as back up) and it beats brother by a mile. Brother printers are one thing, their scanners, not so much. But Plustek is super solid. I don't push it. I do about 25 pages at a clip. If I get a dark line, which can happen when it's new, I open it up and use a soft cloth and then, good as new. Their customer service is off the hook. Be sure to do the calibration every couple of days: can't hurt. They answer the phone and let me tell you I have had some dumb questions: they are ALWAYS KIND.
