Mercusys MR60X AX1500 Wi-Fi 6 Router is designed to update existing home networks to Wi-Fi 6, bringing higher efficiency, better capacity and extended coverage compared with earlier Wi-Fi generations in suitable environments. It offers combined wireless speeds up to 1.5 Gbps with 1201 Mbps on the 5 GHz band and 300 Mbps on the 2.4 GHz band, using 1024‑QAM modulation and a longer OFDM symbol to increase the amount of data transmitted per symbol. Four multi‑directional high‑gain antennas, combined with Beamforming, focus wireless signals toward connected devices, helping to provide stronger and more stable connections in rooms throughout the home. Wi-Fi 6 technologies such as OFDMA and MU‑MIMO allow the MR60X to transmit data to and from multiple devices at the same time, which can improve overall throughput and help support more simultaneous connections under dense usage. BSS Color marks data frames from different access points to reduce interference from neighboring networks and enhance transmission efficiency in crowded wireless environments. Target Wake Time schedules communication with compatible mobile and IoT devices so they can remain in low‑power states longer between transmissions, helping to lower power consumption. The router includes gigabit Ethernet ports for wired connections to devices that need stable, high‑speed links such as desktop computers and smart TVs. WPA3 is implemented as the security standard, adding protection against brute‑force attacks, supporting forward secrecy and using 128‑bit encryption to help safeguard personal information. Smart Connect can combine the 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz bands under one SSID and automatically direct each device to the most suitable band. Setup and management are available through the Mercusys app on iOS and Android, which also provides features including parental controls, guest network configuration, Quality of Service, IPTV optimization via IGMP Proxy/Snooping, bridge and VLAN tag and IPv6 support.
