Review: Very handy, lightweight Hdmi extension - This is a Hdmi
male to female cable for extending the length of your existing
hdmi male to male cables. It measures 2m from end to end
including the connectors, there is an extra 1cm at the male plug
end that goes into your hdmi device. The cable itself is
approximately 5.4mm thick and covered in fabric braiding, the
type that usually gets pulled by velcro fasteners. They've
provided a velcro cable tidy, so you'll have to be careful that
you don't snag it by putting it on the wrong way. The plug ends
are made from a lightweight aluminium alloy, the strain relief is
15mm on the female side, 13mm on the male end. Overall the cable
feels strong yet lightweight at only 80.4g, I don't know how this
compares to other similar cables, but for me it is very useful as
I carry lots of cables. I don't have any 8K hdmi devices to test,
but it works fine for me at standard 1080 and 4K resolutions,
with no noticeable drop in image quality. I have read that with
some inferior cables, the picture will be more prone to dropouts
and interference/noise over longer distances. I had no issues
connecting this up, you simply insert one end of your existing
cable to the female end, then the remaining male ends go to each
end of your devices. The cable is good value for money, as you
can use it to extend your existing hdmi cables reach, or just to
protect wear and tear from constantly plugging and removing from
your devices (you would leave this one in and detach your other
hdmi from the female plug).
Review: Thick, high quality build - Fantastic high quality cable.
The nylon braiding makes it thick and robust. The braid runs
right into the metal cased connectors at both ends, which are
solid to the touch with no flex or wobble where the cable meets
the plug, precisely the area where cheap cables tend to fail
first. It's 2 metres in length, which is perfect for what I
needed it for, as my current HDMI cable is too short. It allows
me to comfortably connect my laptop to my TV. Best of all - it
works well.
