From 14 years old In this independent sequel to the game Scythe, players experience new adventures in Siberia. Rasputin and Fenris' reign is over, bringing a period of relative peace to Europe. But the eyes of the world are quickly turning to Siberia, where a huge meteorite crashed near the Tunguska River. An expedition led by Dr. Tarkovsky ventures into the taiga to learn more about the meteorite and its impact on the earth. When months pass without any reports other than rumors that the crew and wildlife are possessed by strange parasites, a rescue mission is sent in order to find Tarkovsky, but neither do they return. Hungry for adventure, the heroes of war fund their own expeditions to Siberia, hoping to find artifacts, overcome challenges and ultimately achieve fame. They borrow mechs designed for exploration and head to base camp to undertake their journeys. This is where your story begins... Expeditions is a competitive exploration game, with a mechanics of exploration and deckbuilding. Play your cards to gain power, cunning, and unique worker abilities; move your mech to mysterious locations and earn cards found among the tiles; use workers, items, meteorites and quests to upgrade your robot; and use power and cunning to defeat corruption. After a series of expeditions — some successful, some not- — into the icy Siberian tundra, corruption spread from animals and humans to a much greater threat. New heroes, better prepared than their predecessors, gather to face the prospect of a mechanical monster, but the shifting landscape brings greater uncertainty as they explore Tunguska with a fresh look. To counter these threats, the expansion features 2 new mechas and 4 new character/companion couples, as well as components for a 6th player. Expeditions: Mechanical Corruption also speeds up the start of the game by giving players starting resources and a worker hero who can act like any type of worker.
