From 2 to 4 players Approximately 30 min. King of Tokyo: Origins is an indie game from the King of Tokyo lineup primarily designed to serve as an entry point for new players, as it is a more compact version of King of Tokyo. The game includes four new monsters, an assortment of new power cards mixed with old ones, energy cubes and green dice with yellow inlays. In King of Tokyo: Origins, you will play as mutant monsters, gigantic robots and other monstrous creatures who will fight in a joyful atmosphere, with the sole goal of becoming the one and only king of Tokyo. The gameplay remains the same as in the original game: To win, you have to be the first to score 20 victory points, or be the only creature still standing! On each turn, you roll six dice, which display the following six symbols: 1, 2, or 3 points, energy, healing, and attack. In three successive throws, choose to hold or discard each die in order to gain points, energy, restore life, or attack other players. When you attack, if you are outside Tokyo, you hit the one in Tokyo; if you are in Tokyo, you hit all the other players! If a player's health drops to 0, he is out of play. (You can't heal the damage while you're in Tokyo, and the only way to leave the city is to get attacked by someone… which may put you safe from death.) But the point of being in Tokyo is that you earn victory points there automatically, as long as you start your tour in the city. When you gain energy, you store it in cubes, which you can use to buy power cards, which have a permanent or temporary effect. The first player to reach 20 victory points or stay alone alive will be declared King of Tokyo. So, ready to fight to claim the city? This expansion brings King of Tokyo new powers and strategies through a new game board: the Wickedness board, originally integrated into the King of Tokyo Dark collector's edition.
