The hard covers (front & back) make it easier to write. The wide lined paper is thick with a cute little design at the bottom of each page. That's helpful for me because i have grabbed an open notebook before & started to write then realized it was upside down. I'm really impressed with these & the price is reasonable compared to others I looked at (higher number of pages at a lower price). I would recommend.
