- This is actually pretty neat. I've had my Kitchenaid mixer for
more than 7 years now. It's been a great addition to my kitchen.
I started looking up attachments a few weeks ago (I've started
making bread so i wanted a better dough hook) and I was oblivious
to this little gadget until I was recommended it. I scrolled to
see comments and people mostly commented an a few things: - So,
apparently this attachment was on all Kitchenaid mixers prior to
2016. They cut it out due to "cost saving" which to me is
like.... Excuse me? - Better ingredient distribution. People
notice that the bottom of the bowl seems to be cleaner when
mixing ingredients. - Protects your mixer by reducing jostling
that your attachment can make. Which makes sense. Installation
was fairly simple but I'm a doofus so I botched that a little
bit. The construction is sturdy which I appreciate greatly this
company used a rust resistant metal so I don't have to worry
about it. A few things I think people should keep in mind: - Food
might get caught in here so be prepared to find some creative
ways to get it out. I wouldn't recommend continually taking off
the spring and washer. But in the off case it breaks it's an
inexpensive replacement. - I don't think this will make a huge
difference when this comes to light mixing. But I bought this
specifically for bread making. I'm going to give it some time so
I get a more consistent idea of how well it works. But at the
very least I would buy it just to get a better longevity out of
my mixer. Will update.
