Review: WAKEVLEO Zenbanzer USB Microphone with RGB Modes - Priced
at only fifteen quid at the time of this review I wasn't really
expecting much from the WAKEVLEO Zenbanzer USB Microphone if I'm
being honest. However, I must admit, I'm pleasantly surprised.
For the price, whilst the build quality obviously isn't
top-notch, it's pretty good. It feels solid enough, and the mic
can be positioned anywhere within a 90 degree angle. It's simply
plug and play. Just plug the (long 2 metre) cable into the USB
port, set this mic as your default mic in your computer settings
and you're away ready to stream, make Teams/Zoom calls etc. No
drivers or software needed. As far as functionality goes, I'm not
an audiophile so I can't give any kind of professional sound
analysis. Suffice to say though, I use this exclusively for
Teams/Zoom calls for work and it's noticeably better than my
built in PC mic I have been using. The thing that really
attracted me to this mic is the lights. I'm a bit of a sucker for
LED lights on my home office desk as they help lift my mood and
keep my spirits up during the working day. I have a few gadgets
on my desk that light up, a headphone stand, mouse, keyboard etc
and my desk itself has lights too. Usually if the lights are not
your thing on these gadgets you can switch them off. However,
there isn't an option to switch the lights off with this
microphone. Not an issue at all for me personally, but this might
be an issue for some. At this low price point, this is very much
a starter microphone, so maybe wouldn't be the best choice for
anyone needing broadcast quality sound. For me personally, all I
need it for is Voip voice calls, and for this purpose it's
perfectly functional. Good value for money in my humble opinion
for what it is.
