Review: Poop never looked so good! - If I could give this camera
6 stars I would. I bought it because I don't need a full
professional Ridgid sewer camera, nor can I afford one. As a
General Contractor, we hire someone a couple of times a year to
camera a project and always felt like we could do it ourselves,
but the costs for commercial cameras kept us from buying one.
After a storm sewer backup at my home, I started looking up
cameras and found this one and it had reasonably good reviews and
was 10x less expensive than the Pro models I've seen at work. We
bit the bullet and bought it and a month into using it, I
couldn't be happier. Screen clarity is great. Portability is
good. Auto Leveling is good. Almost all parts are solid and work
well. Overall, it's just great if you don't need to use it every
day. My few minor complaints are the following: - The instruction
book is useless. It was translated poorly and it's hard to
understand anythig other than the basic functions. That said, it
really does work right out of the box, but knowing how to use the
features in the menus fullly (turn on the keyboard? set the time
on the clock? etc), are pretty much up to trial and error. - The
set screws on both the camera protectors are small plastic screws
which fail almost immediately. Vevor does provide a compatible
screwdriver, but after 3 uses, grit and sand from the pipe have
basically locked the screws in place. (I am on desertcart now to
see if I can find a replacement so I can drill out those screws
and replace it.) - The roller-wheel lens protector is not great
(Labeled Lens Protector 1 in the manual). If you go through a Wye
of any sort, you will potentially need to fight it back out of
the pipe. It needs some sort of ramp up to the wheels so it can
be pulled back through the pipe. This not a huge deal, but worth
knowing before throwing it into a complex piping network as it
may become a permanent part of the system. All in all, the
benefits and value far outweigh the negatives. Is it good for
everyday use? I don't know. Is it good for how we use it?
Absolutely! I've used it 15 ties since buying it 2 months ago,
though, and it's been great.
Review: Happy Sewer Cleaner - Seems to work very well. I'm
satisfied for the money I spent.
