The colors are pretty, pale pastels, yet colorful enough to make very clear lines. I got these for marking bingo cards and they work great. The tips are not very wide, so may not be what you want for marking text. But I find the narrower line to be great for marking bingo. Review: Very nice calm colors, but very pretty - Very nice light, pretty, pastel colors so your highlighting won't shock you when your turn back a page or two to see what you highlighted. Not neon bright. I tested them on the thinner tissue type paper in my Bible, and they don't soak through, so if someone wanted to try them for that, I recommend trying it on a back blank page to see how they work for you.
