Review: Very Nice SUPER Soft Touch Keyboard - I have been using
an old Microsoft Wireless keyboard at my desk at work for about a
year now, and was very pleased to replace it with this Tecknet
Wireless Keyboard. The Keyboard could not be easier to set up.
Take the keyboard out of the box, open the battery compartment on
the back, insert 1 x AAA battery (not included), remove the USB
dongle from the same space, plug it into your PC, and you are
ready to go! I am using Windows 11, and by the time I sat down
(having plugged in the USB) the keyboard was ready to use, which
was great. The keys are SUPER soft touch, and very nice to use. I
have been using the keyboard for a couple of weeks now, and it
has the perfect balance of firm enough to be satisfying, but soft
at the same time for comfort. I do have 2 small issues with the
keyboard, which is why I gave it 4 and not 5 stars. Firstly there
is no fold-out RISER to the back of the keyboard, which means the
keyboard sits in 1 fixed position when on a desk, and it would
have been really nice to have some fold-out legs on the back to
give me the option to angle it more. The other min niggle is that
there is only space for 1 x AAA Battery. Having taken the
batteries out of my previous keyboard and using it in this, the
keyboard suddenly stopped working this week without any warning,
and it turns out the battery had run flat. It would have been
nice to get an audible or visual warning that the keyboard
battery was low before it just stopped working. Overall though,
for the money I would say this is a good keyboard, basic by
desgin but very pleasant to use.
Review: Comfortable wireless keyboard that works well for
everyday typing - My home office setup needed a simple wireless
keyboard that wouldn’t clutter the desk with cables, and this
TECKNET one seemed like a sensible option with both USB and
Bluetooth connectivity. Setting it up was straightforward. It
connected quickly and worked without any fiddling around with
settings, which is always a relief. Being able to switch between
devices using Bluetooth or the USB receiver is quite handy as
well, especially if you use more than one computer or a tablet.
The keys feel comfortable to type on. They’ve got a decent amount
of travel and aren’t overly noisy, so it’s pleasant enough for
long typing sessions. The layout is the standard UK layout too,
which saves the usual confusion with symbols being in the wrong
place. Build quality seems fairly good for the price. It’s mostly
plastic, but it doesn’t feel flimsy and sits nicely on the desk
without sliding around. For general office work it feels solid
enough. Battery life appears to be very good so far. It lasts
ages without needing attention, which is ideal if you just want
something that works without constantly thinking about charging
or changing batteries. A couple of small downsides though. The
keyboard is quite lightweight, which some people might like, but
it can make it feel slightly less premium. Also, there’s no
backlighting, so typing in a dim room isn’t ideal. Overall it’s a
reliable keyboard that does the job well for a home office. Not
fancy, but comfortable, practical and good value for money.
