Review: Fun bus toy with good detail, lights, opening doors and sound effects but all voices in Chinese, lol - This is a fun bus toy which comes in a sturdy cardboard box that's full of bus images and Chinese text. The box comes bubble wrapped and inside the box there's an additional set of 2AAA batteries and a screwdriver included - a small screwdriver that helps you get into the battery compartment on the top of the bus. This toy is very fun and looks very fun, but wow, it's all in Chinese, lol! The bus exterior says some nice things in English like 'Lucky bus' and 'Bus to happiness', and there's lots of fun details including on the underside, and it does look a lot of fun with a switch you slide on the side of the battery compartment to open and close the doors. The level of detail inside the bus is quite impressive and the toy itself has rubbery wheels that have that sort of back wheels that if you drive it forwards a few times will keep momentum and keep the bus moving (sorry forgot what this mechanism is called). The bus doors are the only weakness though as I feel the front door especially could get broken if a child was very rough with it, but this is only if you push the door inwards with your fingers so if a child is not so rough it won't be a problem. There are four buttons on the top of the bus in different colours, and these all have different sound effects when you press them, with more than one sound coming from each button when pressed again. There are lights inside the bus which flash green and red whenever a button is pressed: Red - 2 different announcements with a sort of bing bong type intro. Green - A voice talking, and 3 different very basic sounding tunes playing (one of them is Joy to the World!) Yellow - Two different songs play with a voice singing Blue - Lights flash while different sounds can be heard, 3 types of siren and the fourth sound is the starting of a bus engine. All of the above is very fun, but the one major flaw for me with this bus toy is that ALL of the voices are in CHINESE! This makes English speakers miss out on being able to understand what the announcements are saying or what the songs being sung are about which is a shame. It's still a lovely toy and I do think if you're not bothered about the language or speak a little Chinese in your home then it'll make a lovely gift for kids. But for someone who doesn't speak Chinese, it's a fun toy but I feel like if I had this as a kid I'd want to know what was being said, lol.
