I thought maybe buying a weighted stuffed animal would help him be able to rest more and rest better. I was looking for a larger, heavier, floppy stuffed animal with a nice texture and a sensible weight distribution. I did some research on desertcart and actually bought a few different brands to try out, but ended up choosing this one without hesitation. This bear is immensely soft; it is both silky and fuzzy at the same time. It seems durable and well-made with heavy stitching at the seams (which does not affect the softness). The large size is quite large and perfect for an adult. It would definitely be too big for a small child. I like that it is 5lbs because it actually feels heavy and provides that sense of security when it's laying on you. 3-4 lbs felt much too light and insignificant to me. (Note: If you're an adult or adult-sized, go with the 5 lbs. If you're looking for a kid or king-sized, I suggest 4 lbs or less). Also, this bear has the perfect amount of "flop" in its long limbs and long torso, which also adds to its provided comfort. Some other brands I tried were way too stiff or rigid and felt more like decoration than something you'd actually want to hug. The colors are vibrant and exactly like the pictures. The weight distribution is solely in the belly and two back legs and it does not move around. (One huge con I found with other brands was an uneven or awkward weight distribution. Some of them, for instance, had beans/sand that moved around within the stuffed animal which I found to be rather annoying.) No weird smells. And who doesn't like a stuffed bear? (Bears are adorable!) As for the price, quite honestly, I think you get what you pay for. Overall, I am completely satisfied and happy with my purchase. Admittedly, I sleep with this bear more than my husband does. Maybe I'll get this bear a fuzzy friend, who knows (hehehe)... Anyway, I highly recommend this weighted stuffed animal!
