My Arcade Gamestation Go

Founded in 1972, Atari changed the way we approached gaming – from the way games were designed to the way they were played. Atari’s iconic games, including Asteroids, Centipede and Missile Command have been played by many millions. Half a century later, Atari’s legacy endures. Review: So much potential - My primary reason for wanting the Gamestation Go was the screen size. I had the original Atari VGS, so I'm a bit older, and the 3-4" screen games just don't cut it. This is a good size for a portable. And, of course, you can always use the HDMI out to connect to a TV. Quite a few games built-in. Of course, no one will be totally happy with the selection. At this point, why not just release everything? Every ROM you can run would probably take up less than 1GB. It's a great toy, and the controls are very well done. Playing Tempest with a rotary controller is just amazing. With the rotary controller and the track-ball, makes me wish they would have included another multi-directional controller on the other side for dual-stick shooters. But, of course then you could say "why not a whole set of programmable buttons for games like Defender", etc. It's just so good, you wish you could do everything with it. Of course, you can fill a micro SD card with ROM's to use on it. But you have to choose the internal storage or card at boot, and you can't switch back/forth without powering it off, at least as far as I can tell. It is buggy, though. I won't get into the details, there are a lot of videos out there that show specific issues like screen ratios and lack of sound. But it is upgradable, here's hoping they take the bug reports seriously and provide new software to fix them. Review: No joystick but d-pad and roller and turning knob ok :) - A lot of gaming back from the 70's and 80's for me :) I think for the money its great in 2026. Very fun to play. out of everything I have tested its only one draw back is the fact you have to use the d-pad instead of a joystick like with my OG Atari 2600. But with other handhelds this does have HDMI and it has a big kick stand to play on any tv. Its large so a case might come in handy. kind of heavy but nothing to un-comfy to use. Feels well built and has live updates when needed.
