But for the more experienced kid or adult, it can be a fulfilling experience. I'm an older adult with previous modeling experience, mostly in wooden ships and planes. These erector-set type models are new to me, simple but fun. They almost beg to be modified with all those extra unbolted holes. So get goofy creative! I went with a "steampunk thing" using metal gears I bought and random brass and copper pieces I could find in junk drawers. The pointy brass in the front is from an old archery sight. There are two cut down shell casings, some plumbing connectors, brass picture hangers, etc. etc. I enjoyed the whole process. So as a simple metal toy or more ... thumbs up!
