Review: Really Great wireless Microphone again. - Another great
Maono mic. It’s super well made and very simple to use. You get
everything you need in the box and can be setup and running in
minutes. There’s no need to download any apps or anything it’s
just insert the included dongle and away you go. This mic and the
boom arm are super light so you could easily use this for travel.
Even though it’s light the build quality is superb and everything
looks and feels good. Even the cables are really good quality
ones that allow you to use either USB-C or USB-A which is a
really thoughtful addition. I would have like it if the A-C
adaptor wasn’t attached to a cable but it’s a small nitpick.
Sound quality is great on the mic as expected. You don’t lose
enough to matter though the wireless connection. Perfect for
Discord, streaming, recording YT/Podcasts or even work calls.
I’ve had compliments on the sound quality so that’s positive.
Connection is solid always, no dropouts so far and the battery
life is great. It charges nice and fast so I just charge mine
when I’m offline. Not tried the AI features because AI is the
worst of the worst however I’m not even sure I’d have a use case
for it. Seems like a grater they added because AI is the latest
thing that has to be plastered all over and inside of everything.
Overall though this is a great microphone for anyone who wants a
compact, lightweight and quality setup. I personally would go for
the version without the boom arm simply because it’s more
versatile and take up less space. I 3D printed a desk stand and
it works perfectly with the boom arm version. Recommended
Review: Strong audio performance with a premium price tag. - A
good microphone can make all the difference whether it’s for
gaming, streaming or general online use, and this one certainly
has plenty going for it. The option to run it either wirelessly
over 2.4GHz or via USB makes it far more versatile than many
others in this range, but not sure why there's no option for
5GHz. The wireless function, in particular, gives a tidy setup
without cables trailing across the desk, while still offering a
stable connection and respectable range. Sound quality is where
it performs strongly. Being a dynamic microphone with a cardioid
pickup pattern, it focuses nicely on the voice and avoids
dragging in too much background noise. The three levels of noise
reduction are useful rather than just being there which is good,
especially in environments where keyboards, fans or general room
noise might otherwise creep in. More so, it'll sit in my
daughter's gaming room where noise is higher than anywhere in the
house...kids. It manages to keep vocals clear without making them
sound thin or overly processed. The built in pop protection and
foam windscreen also help reduce harsher sounds without the need
for extra accessories. The inclusion of software control adds
another layer of flexibility. Access to EQ adjustments and preset
modes through the companion app allows for some refinement
depending on whether it’s being used for gaming chat, streaming
or recording. The touch mute function is responsive, and the
headphone monitoring is helpful for keeping track of levels in
real time. Small touches like the battery indicator and the
combined gain/volume control make day to day use straightforward.
The RGB lighting will appeal to those who enjoy customising their
setup. It can be adjusted or turned off entirely, which is
appreciated and again needed, especially in more subdued
environments. Battery life is reasonable, maybe average at best,
offering just enough use before needing a recharge, and the
warning indicator prevents it from cutting out unexpectedly. As
for criticisms, the main sticking point is the price. At full
retail cost of £89.99 at time of review, it sits in a competitive
bracket where expectations are high. While the performance is
solid and the feature set generous, it does feel more attractive
when discounted or part of a promotion. It is not overpriced for
what it offers, but it does edge towards the higher side of what
many would consider reasonable for a gaming focused microphone.
