Reading up about it I decided to keep the unit when I realised my mistake and so far do not regret it. I was becoming more and more frustrated with inkjet cartridges drying out due to infrequent use plus having problems with banding and print alignment issues so decided to spend the extra cash and upgrade. This led printer uses powder toner cartridges similar to a laser printer so that should eliminate the drying ink issues. Also the print quality is excellent so far. Easy to set up. My Apple Mac detected it immediately I connected it so set up was a breeze. Only frustration at present is it defaults to double sided printing, although when I get the time there maybe a way round that. Also be aware this is a heavy unit which is ideally a 2 person lift for a retired person like me. Early impressions are very favourable. Review: Excellent double-sided A4 colour laser printer with scanner / photocopy - This is an excellent colour laser printer. Unlike many other brands, it accepts third-party toner cartridges, even after updating the firmware to the latest v1.2 in Feb 2025 (I used TONTINA TN248 black without problems). Printing is crisp and clear, deep blacks and colours. It prints double-sided and also easily accepts sheets of labels or lightweight card. The manual feed slot is easy to use. It also has an instant photocopy function (B&W or colour) and can scan to your PC or a network location. I like the fact that it does not have a multi-sheet feeder for the scanner, an option I never use, which cuts down on bulk. It is still big and heavy, but I've seen bigger; build quality is robust. Criticisms: Speed is okay but not impressively fast. Configuring scan-to-PC or scan-to-network is fiddly and there is no scan-to-USB option. Highly recommended.
