Embody a magician and use your arcane essences to create strange artifacts. Activate their powers, increase your power, take control of dragons and win the game. In Res Arcana, every magician begins the game with an essence of every kind, 3 artifacts in hand and a magical object. During a game round, you collect essences and perform one action per round until everyone has passed by. The goal is to have the greatest number of victory points - 10 or more - in the winning control phase. The magicians and magic items are selected during placement. At the end of each game, a player must replace their magical item with a new one. Each player has an individual card pack with 8 artifacts, 3 of which form their starting hand. The artifacts are placed in essences by paying the cost of in-gameplay and may eventually bring victory points. Some artifacts are creatures or dragons. The sights and power places are placed in the middle of the game table and can be purchased. The player who pays the cost of introducing a monument or power place takes possession of it immediately and permanently. Landmarks and power places are the main sources of victory points of the game. Game elements that have collecting skills create essences at the beginning of each round. Many game elements have one or more powers. Forces have a cost and work effectively. Many of these costs mean that this element is incurred. It is then temporarily neutralized, apart from its possible reaction forces. Victory control is carried out at the end of each round.
