Review: Affordable, Practical, and Impressively Long-Lasting -
I’ve been wearing the Baolubao smartwatch for a while now, and it
truly feels like great value for money. The design is clean, with
a 1.7-inch color touchscreen that looks sharp indoors and remains
readable in most outdoor settings. Pairing was quick and
effortless — Bluetooth connection is stable, and it works
smoothly with both Android and iPhone without any complicated
setup steps. Notifications, call alerts, and calendar reminders
come through instantly, with a gentle vibration that’s noticeable
without being startling. It offers multiple workout tracking
modes and health monitoring functions. Heart rate, blood oxygen,
and step counts are generally close to the results from my more
expensive watch, though occasionally it adds extra steps if my
hands are moving a lot. With an IP68 water-resistance rating, it
can handle handwashing, showers, and even short swims without
issue. The only area I found lacking was sleep tracking — if I
sit still for a long time watching TV, it sometimes mistakes it
for deep sleep. Battery life is excellent. With the always-on
display switched off, a full charge lasts six to seven days and
still leaves some power in reserve. This is a big advantage over
pricier models that need daily charging. The charger uses a
magnetic connection, though I’d personally prefer the convenience
of USB-C. Navigation is handled by a single crown — scroll to
move through screens, press to go back — simple enough to master
without reading the manual. The strap feels slightly stiff at
first but softens after a few days, fitting comfortably on the
wrist. The clasp design holds the excess strap securely in place
so it doesn’t flap around. The pre-installed watch faces are
lively, but you can download cleaner designs via the companion
app or easily swap out the strap to suit different occasions.
Overall, the Baolubao combines a versatile look, practical
features, and an attractive price, with battery endurance that’s
especially impressive. If you’re after a watch for everyday
activity tracking and reliable notifications — rather than
intense sports training — this is a strong choice worth
considering.
Review: Neat little smart watch with bonus extra strap - There
wasn't much information about this product when I ordered it, but
as I have been looking for a new smart watch, I decided to try
this one. I was very pleasantly surprised by it when it arrived!
It is the slim style with a fairly small screen, but the screen
is very clear and easy to read, actually more so than my watch
it's replacing, despite the fact that the screen on that one was
double the width! The package contains the watch, a magnetic
charger cable (you will require a usb-a socket or adaptor), an
instruction booklet, and an additional strap/casing in a pretty
plummy purple, which I was very surprised by. The straps are long
and should fit most wrists, although anyone particularly tiny
might need a child's model, my (female) wrists are smallish but
not unusually so, and I'm wearing it on close to the smallest the
strap will go. The watch uses an app called Glory fit, which I
had already been using with my previous phone so was familiar
with. It works well and seems pretty accurate on distances/heart
rate/blood oxygen, so far as I can verify (I have compared using
a well known branded pulse oximeter, and it agreed with the
watch), There are options to monitor lots of different sporting
activities if you do such things, I only walk really so haven't
tried them. The watch is waterproof to ten metres apparently, I
haven't been diving in it but it hasn't minded washing up or me
washing it under the tap! I do like that there is no side button
on this watch, as with my old one I found it was pressing itself
when I folded my hand back. You can tap the screen or raise your
arm to wake it, this is a bit hit and miss but I find this to
always be the case. There are options within the app to customise
the screen display - there are multiple free screens you can
install on it, or you can make your own from your own photos
(this works pretty well, although if you do this you don't have
the option to put steps etc on the main screen, only the time).
The battery life is excellent - I have been wearing it for
several days (and I walk over 15k steps every weekday with work)
and the battery has only gone down to half. Excellent value basic
smart watch.
