Review: Awesome Buy! - This device is seriously impressive. The
first thing you notice is the build quality. It actually feels
like they took an Xbox controller, split it in half, and put a
powerful PC in the middle. The grips are comfortable, natural,
and make long sessions easy without feeling awkward or cramped.
The screen is excellent. The 1080p resolution and 120Hz refresh
rate make everything look sharp and smooth, whether you’re
playing locally or streaming. Colors are vibrant and the overall
image quality stands out right away. Performance has been great
for what it’s designed to do. It handles games well, and where
this really shines is streaming. Using it with Xbox Game Pass and
PS5 streaming has been smooth and responsive, which opens up a
ton of flexibility. Battery life has also been better than
expected, especially depending on how you’re using it. For a
handheld PC, it holds up well and doesn’t feel like you’re
constantly tied to a charger.
Review: The ROG Xbox Ally is fantastic - I adore this thing. An
absolute beast for retro gaming, plays Cyberpunk 2077 on medium
settings as smooth as butter (I've seen people using dynamic
resolution and all that to play on high settings at 30fps but I'm
happy with what I accomplished lol), very little lag. Battery
life, could be better, but at the same time you can buy a mod kit
or a lightweight portable charger. Functionality, as mentioned
previously, is grand. It doesn't have all the bells and whistles
of the Xbox Ally X, but it doesn't need them. You can upgrade
your RAM. You can update your SSD. You can use a 2tb microsd
card. Worth the price of admission for one of the better gaming
PC handhelds on the market.
