Review: Well Made and Well Designed - Works Great - I have
several pieces of Alocs camping gear including a cook set and a
backpacking stove. All of it has been well designed and nice
quality. For single use backpacking I have always used a small
French press but since finding this, I have switched and am
really enjoying this 2.3L pot. I often take groups of 3-6 people
wilderness alpine trout fishing and this pot works great for a
group larger than just myself. The filter has flanges that hold
it above the rim of your cup. The set comes with a cup but the
filter setup fits most of my other cups and mugs fine. The pour
spout is removable but stays put when pouring. The anodized pot
itself is well made and heats up well. The filter setup keeps
grounds out of the coffee a little better than my French press
and this makes a good cup of drip coffee that is enjoyable. Look
at a couple of YouTube videos to get some good suggestions on
making the best cup of pour over coffee and you can make a very
good cup of coffee with this set. I use for backpacking with
groups, camping at campgrounds, and at the cabin. Overall, it's
about as good as it gets for making pour over coffee. My only
suggestion for Alocs would be to include some instructions on its
use and for making the perfect cup of pour over coffee. The set
comes in a storage bag and everything fits well in the pot. The
set is easy to use and a quick way to get that badly needed cup
of coffee while camping or on the trail.
