The ToughArmor MB873MP-B is a robust M.2 NVMe SSD backplane module with eight removable slots that fits into a single optical 5.25" drive bay of a computer case and PCIe 4.0 64Gb/s data transfer rates over 8x OCuLink (SFF-8612) Connections supported. It consists of a robust full metal construction and uses removable M.2 SSD slots (trays) that support tool-free installation and removal of the SSDs for effortless maintenance. In addition, the MB873MP-B is equipped with two 40 x 20 mm fans on the back, which dissipate the heat generated by the fast PCIe 4.0 SSD for optimal cooling performance. Support up to eight PCIe 4.0 NVMe M.2 drives in a single 5.25" installation bay increases your system's storage efficiency. The MB873MP-B exploits the full potential of PCIe 4.0 M.2 NVMe SSDs by using OCulink (SFF-8612) ports for each of the 8 SSDs to allow transfer speeds of up to 64 Gbps per slot. This is twice as fast as PCIe 3.0 and ten times as fast as SATA. The simultaneous operation of eight M.2 NVMe SSDs can lead to heat build-up. Therefore, we have installed two 40x20mm fans that provide massive airflow throughout the housing to keep the M. 2 NVMe SSDs even at maximum load at optimal operating temperatures. The special slimline drive tray (tray) is made of durable aluminium and serves as a heat sink to dissipate the heat generated by M.2 NVMe SSDs. The included thermal pad fills the gaps between the contact surfaces and dissipates heat from the M.2 SSD to the heat sink, so that the airflow can efficiently dissipate heat.
