Review: 1.2 litre camping pot - A very well made stainless steel
camping kettle. It has a capacity of 1.2 litres and can be placed
on a flat surface or use the hoop arm to hang above the fire.
When we are camping (tent or RV) we use a Swedish Fire Log to
cook and heat the area spending the night. Swedish fire log is a
cut log with a centre bore removed and near bottom another hole
through to make an inverted T. Setting the fire in centre of T,
the heat rises. A few flat stones on top of the log allows the
kettle, frying pan, etc to be used to heat to boiling. It can be
used over a larger fire when use a TT over the fire. This is the
way to use more than one cookware at the same time. Use to make
boiling water, boil water and add noodles and flavour packet, or
to boil meats, etc... It is a very multipurpose kettle with a
wide mouth on top with lid. This makes for easy use and easy
clean and dry for next time. It can also be used on LPG/Propane
cook stoves and grills - the flat surface with heat is all this
unit needs to boil water, cook foods. The ideal size to make
enough and be Portable!
Review: A decently made camping pot/kettle,but watch the handles
when in use.Not badly priced though. - On first opening the
box,you might think this is a bit expensive for what it is,and
you might be right.But since kettles and such like for camping
are usually a bit on the expensive side anyway,this is not really
an issue for what is,essentially a well made camping pot. It has
two fold out handles,something I am not really a fan of,as they
can get a bit hot in use,but if you are careful they are entirely
usable,and attached to the sides at the top is a hanging
handle.Inside is a basic measuring scale,and on the lid is a lift
up smaller,pull handle to lift up the lid. The anti drip spout
has a basic filter as well. The pot can be used on a decent range
of camping fire,gas burners etc. Its not a bad camping pot and
its fairly light so easy to carry inside or attached to a
backpack,and to be honest,its good enough to throw in the boot
and use on occasion if needed,like on walks,or parking up
somewhere,as long as you have a fire source. For the price its
not bad,easy to carry,and can be used for either drinks or even
some foods like soup or such like. Or even just for boiling
water! Just be careful with the handles,I've had experience of
getting a burn from those type of fold out handles whilst on a
camping trip before.
