Review: A great polisher for the price - The first thing I
noticed about this polisher was the weight. It's not a
lightweight 'toy' which some tools feels like, but a proper bit
of kit that you feel has been made to do a job, and do it well.
Fortunately you get a couple of handle options with this polisher
and even though it's got a bit of heft, it's not too heavy in
use. In the box (no stroage case unfortunately) you get a ton of
polishing / buffing / burnishing pads of standard size, plus a
large pad which is great for other uses. You also get hats for
final polishing which is a nice touch. And you get spare brushes
for the motor. Yeah, it's not brushless but brushes are so cheap
nowadays so it's not really an issue. Note too that this is not
battery powered but powered by good old fashioned electric wire
and plug, and I like that! There's a choice of speed adjusted by
a rather small switch which is a bit hard to change when you have
gloves on. The results are great and the polished results are
better than the polisher that I previously used. Overall I feel
that this is a proper tool for doing polishing jobs, and it's an
upgrade on what I had before so I'm happy to recommend it. It's
not a well known brand name but for less than £46 I think you'd
be hard pressed to find something as robust for this amount of
money.
Review: A powerful car polisher with comprehensive kit - This
Worshow Car Buffer Polisher is impressive for the price. The
mains powered motor is powerful (1600 Watt). It has 8 variable
speeds making it versatile, I’ve used the low speed for applying
wax, medium for buffing, and high speed for removing small paint
defects or harder to remove stains. The different speeds are
selected by a little dial which is a little fiddly, and would be
difficult to adjust with oily hands or when wearing protective
gloves. Apart from polishing it can be used for sanding and
scratch repairs. The rotary Car Buffer is ready to work straight
out of the box, and the box is packed with lots of accessories
too long to mention in a review, but see photo. Unfortunately
there is no storage case provided, and once the cardboard
delivery box is opened and items spring out from transit
position, it needs to be found a storage home, as it is a
challenge to return everything back into the cardboard box. It's
a little heavier than I expected, so the strong plastic handles
are needed. It is unusual to find new mains electrical domestic
devices fitted with carbon brushes, most have moved toward
brushless or induction motors. But the kit includes a replacement
set of brushes for when the ones installed wear out, and
replacement is straightforward without need to dismantle the
motor. The kit contains instructions (not very good!) and a
diagram of the motor and its parts. Both detachable handles (side
handle and D-type handle) are comfortable to use, and its lock-on
button is needed for longer buffing sessions. As well as
polishing my car, I’ve used it on a table in the lounge, and it
gave a professional-looking finish. My next mission is to use it
to remove the age discolouration from the car headlight glass.
