Combining the latest SATA III 6Gb/s specification with a powerful SandForce controller, the SSD720 offers transfer speeds of up to 560MB/s read and 540MB/s write. In addition to these incredible sequential transfer rates, the SSD720 supports lightning-fast 4k random file writes up to 93,000 IOPS, taking a mere 15 seconds to transfer a 4.7GB DVD
Equipped with the fastest type of MLC flash chips available, the SSD720’s 24nm synchronous toggle mode NAND modules work effectively with the advanced SandForce controller, ideal for running demanding system applications, such as specialized multimedia computing and high-end gaming. Support for Native Command Queuing (NCQ) adds to the performance and efficiency features of the SSD720 by optimizing the order in which received read and write commands are executed.
To meet the size limitations of today’s modern Ultrabooks, netbooks, and notebooks, the SSD720 boasts a super slim thickness of just 7mm, compared with 9.5mm of most SSDs currently available. Although smaller in size, the 7mm SSD720 uses the same SATA connector used on a 2.5” hard disk drive (HDD) and is backwards compatible with SATA II (3Gb/s) and SATA I (1.5Gb/s) connection options for excellent multi-platform compatibility.

To keep your Transcend SSD running fast, clean, and error-free, the advanced SSD Scope software application is available to download and work with the SSD720. SSD Scope allows you to monitor SSD720 health status with S.M.A.R.T. technology, enable the TRIM command in the operating system to help maintain optimum write speeds, and conveniently update SSD firmware, all from a single user-friendly tool.
For operating systems that do not support the TRIM command, the SSD720 offers an aggressive garbage collection and recycling system. To further increase the lifespan of the SSD720, built-in wear-leveling and Error Correction Code (ECC) ensure continued reliable data transfer. SSD Scope also includes a convenient System Clone utility to help make upgrading your existing computer to the performance boost of an SSD720 quick and easy.
