Review: This is the game that might just slay the dragon. - The
sonic fanbase has a reputation for being extremely hard to
please...among other things that exist in the dark seedy corners
of the internet, but the games have taken heat for a few years.
Earlier, Sonic Mania was released to much positive fan fare,
there was concern about this one, as Mania was a throwback to the
earlier games, would Forces be good, or would it be the latest in
a long line of junk. Personally, I think the game's pretty good.
The gameplay is similar to generations and colors (Colors was
really good, but everyone forgets about that one) The story is
pretty engaging, you get to make your own character (which is
what the fanbase has been doing forever), The graphics are good
and the music is good (It usually is, but that's besides the
point.) If you get the bonus edition you can play as Shadow, whom
fans have loved since SA2. Is the game perfect? No, but no game
is, The controls are a little slippery sometimes, but it gives
you a lot of fun, and at <$40.00 it's at a reasonable price. This
is a good thing in a world of microtransactions , loot-boxes, and
half finished AAA titles (Looking at you Street Fighter 5 and
Marvel vs. Capcom Infinite.) However, if you, brave reader, are
still unsure, you can probably rent it or something.
