I've talked extensively about how amazing that company is and how they always stay ahead of the trends... I feel like a broken record. But its not like you have read all my reviews.... or if you have, I apologize. SO, truth be told, im like 85% done with this build. Im actually doing it right now. I took a break to write this up while it was still fresh in my mind... So what is so exciting that it couldn't wait?? Its going to sound pretty lame to some people, but im gonma.go out on a whim here and guess that all those other builders out there can relate. So I've done SO many of these book nooks. One thing that always bothered me was that they all made u make all the accessories first and I guess they expect u to just bundle them all together and hope they dont get lost or end up drying all stuck to eachother. I found that it is MUCH easier to put them in their designated place on the Book Nook and let them dry there. Of course, no one sets it up like that, so I'd have to jump ahead in the booklet of instructions and it always gets somewhat confusing because they don't have everything lined up for you to just move ahead on the instructions and jump to whatever section u feel like working on. So I'm happy to report that this book nook was the first one I've ever done where they had me build the structure first and then all the little pieces second. I'm hoping this is like some kind of new trend because it was amazing. Look I know it sounds trivial, but I'm telling you-big game changer for me. It also came with its own little glue stick(actually not little at all) which has one side for flattening out there Glue on big items (which you do have to do on this one, by the way. They have everything on the cutout sheets but then you have to glue it on to all the blank pieces of board) and then the other tip is like a Precision fine tip. It's awesome actually. Just a little bit of advice - the glue is the kind of glue where you cannot move around the pieces of paper after you have put them down. Like, you need to figure out exactly where you going to have that thing stick before you put the glue on. You will not have another opportunity to move it. If you try to, you will rip the paper all up. And nobody wants that. You know... going by the look of it, this book nook kit kind of seems like one of those ones that wouldn't have a lot to it. But it's actually quite the opposite. Since you have to kind of glue on even the wall decorations - like wallpaper I mean - that means you really do have to do everything. Like build up all the machines from the scrap pieces of wood, not plastic pieces. that kind of thing. So this is actually a pretty involved book nook, just so everyone knows. And it's super cute I really like how it looks. I will ofcourse post my final photos when I finish it up. But I did enjoy making this nook. What can i say... Rolife has done it again. Review: Extremely high quality model and a joy to build - I love Robotime 3D kits. There are other manufacturers on the market, but don’t be confused by the quality! The difference is in the quality and the details. Specifically: - The flat stock pieces are extremely accurate and easy to extract and fit flawlessly - The kit provides detail pieces in plastic and metal, along with flowers, plants and other small details which make all the difference between a flat stock assembly and a real model with intricate details - The lighting system is always well designed and a nice touch of reality to the model - The product includes glue, which I love since I always suggest securing the assembly with glue, and not just relying on the snap fit and double sided tape that you can use. I use modeling lue and it adds to the quality of the build! - The instructions are easy to follow and well laid out. It offers a good opportunity to create without stress of poor design. My suggestion, buy a good modeling knife, tweezers and clear model glue. Take your time. Enjoy the build process as much as the final result. This is an excellent model for adults and kids. A great expression of self and a nice way to focus and relax… distract from the chaos of the world we live in and create something really beautiful! I haven’t had a chance to complete this model yet, but posting a picture of another Robotime model I did finish recently to give you an idea of what you can expect from the finished product… they’re beautiful!
