You might think more when you see it but the Max Capacity line is just over halfway up the kettle so its capacity is smaller than it looks. Talking of the max line it is extremely difficult to see so if you are a myopic older person like me (maybe the use case for a travel kettle?) you are going to have to first find this line then commit it to memory or reach for your spectacles and a torch 🤓 The kettle comes with a short cable (for easy packing) which wraps and clips around the base and inside the kettle are two small plastic mugs. All of this is designed to make it lightweight, functional and portable but if you have the space you might prefer better cups and if travelling overseas you will need an adaptor so bear this in mind when using. The lid hinges up for filling and storing the cups. Boiling the full kettle takes about 3.5 to 4 minutes which is fast enough, there is an indicator lamp and the kettle does switch off a few seconds after reaching boiling automatically, you can switch off manually if you want. This is not just good for travel but maybe home offices, camper vans and small families would get good use out of this as well. It would be good in a B&B or your own guest room as well. There are compromises to the use of a normal kettle in that it doesn’t have a detachable cable or base and the reach is short but then this is exactly what you want if you are packing into a bag or suitcase.
