Review: Quiet, smart and practical - Crumbs everywhere after my
son and his mates demolished a late night pizza in the lounge. I
tapped the start button on the Monsga MR1 and, while the kettle
boiled, watched it thread its way between trainers and charging
cables without a whimper. The dog did his usual dramatic leap
onto the sofa, but the vacuum barely broke 55dB, so the TV chat
show stayed perfectly audible. With its 3.2 inch profile it slid
under the low IKEA sideboard that my upright has never reached.
And that 4000Pa motor really does the business, lifting pepperoni
flecks and the fine dust my mountain bike tyres track in. I
clipped on the mop plate, set the water flow to medium in the
SmartLife app, and the hallway tiles got a respectable wipe in
the same pass. Battery was showing 62 percent after just over an
hour, plenty left for tomorrow’s kitchen run. Build feels solid,
the remote works for my technophobe mum, and scheduling through
Alexa has been faultless. I’d still keep the big vac for stair
carpets, yet as a daily floor keeper this unit punches well above
its weight. Good suction, clever navigation and no drama setup
equal very decent value for what you get.

My apartment is quite small so he can clean everything in one
charge, and then goes back to his humble abode to recharge for
the next day. I’m always amazed by how much dust he picks up,
being so little and the apartment so small. He manages to go
under the sofa and every nook and cranny to pick up the most
stubborn pieces of dust. His navigation system is random, but I
really don’t mind. His suction power is very strong and you can
modulate it as well. It’s definitely worth the money if you, like
me, want to have something practical around you.
