Review: Impressive build, but I treat it more like a display
piece - The LEGO NINJAGO Lloyd’s Titan Mech 15th Anniversary –
Ninja Action Toy is clearly designed as a statement set within
the NINJAGO range. From the outset, it feels like a substantial
build. With a high part count and many numbered bags, this isn’t
something intended to be completed quickly. It’s the kind of set
that benefits from being built over multiple sessions, allowing
time to appreciate the process rather than rushing through it.
The build experience is mostly enjoyable, but it does require
focus. Certain sections, particularly around the torso and joint
assemblies, demand careful attention, as small placement errors
can affect alignment later. This doesn’t come across as poor
design, but rather as a sign that the set is aimed at more
experienced builders. Using the LEGO Builder app alongside the
paper instructions can be especially helpful here, as the ability
to rotate the model on screen makes trickier angles and colour
separation much clearer. As with most modern LEGO sets, the
overall quality is excellent. The pieces fit together securely,
tolerances are tight, and the finished model feels solid despite
its complexity. Once completed, the mech has real presence. It’s
tall, bulky, and packed with surface detail. Articulation is one
of its strongest features: arms, legs, shoulders, and wings are
all poseable, allowing for a wide range of dynamic stances. The
wing-to-shield transformation is a clever design choice, and the
sword is more visually effective than expected. However, the
model is slightly top-heavy. While it can stand securely when
posed carefully, it feels better suited to display than frequent
handling. Despite being marketed as an action toy, it behaves
more like a poseable display piece than something designed for
rough play. Price is a significant consideration. This is
undeniably an expensive set, though it does offer a substantial
build time, many parts, and is perfect for those already invested
in NINJAGO or large mech-style builds, it makes more sense as a
premium purchase. Overall, this is an impressive centrepiece set
that looks excellent on display. It’s detailed, slightly fiddly
in places, and best handled with care. While it carries the
“action toy” label, it feels far more like a collector-focused
model designed to be admired rather than played with daily,
particularly by younger builders.
Review: Another Outstanding build from Lego - This 2026 15th
Anniversary edition of the Ninjago Titan Mech feels like another
standout build from LEGO, almost doubling the complexity of the
2019 version and turning Lloyd's mech into something far more
detailed and expressive. With 1,293 pieces, the upgraded frame
has sharper armour shaping and fully posable wings doubling as
the shield, legs, feet, arms and shoulders, giving it a dynamic
range of movement the earlier model simply couldn’t match. The
improved joints make it easy to create dramatic poses, and the
redesigned sword, paired with a shield for the first time, gives
the mech a real knight like presence. The included minifigures,
Lloyd, Grimfax and the Master of Ice, are faithfully recreated as
minifigures, with the Master of Ice even getting his own podium.
Our 11‑year‑old son took this on as his most complex build yet,
spending around eight hours over three days to complete it. There
were a few trickier sections where we stepped in to help, but
that’s part of what made it such a rewarding project. The
instructions were, as always, excellent. Clear, steady, and
detailed enough to guide younger builders while still keeping
adults engaged. This set demands a good sense of spatial
awareness and shape transformation, which pushed him in all the
right ways and made finishing it feel like a real achievement.
Once assembled, the mech is impressively sturdy and well
balanced. It’s easy to lift, holds poses beautifully, and strikes
a great balance between being fun to play with and displaying
proudly. As usual, LEGO includes a handful of spare pieces,
always handy when a tiny part decides to go on an adventure of
its own partway through the build. Overall, this is a fantastic
set that we genuinely enjoyed building together, and it’s now
proudly part of our ever growing collection. It’s one of those
builds that feels special from start to finish and leaves you
feeling accomplished and excited for whatever challenges LEGO
offers up next.
