Review: A Very Impressive, Powerful Little Portable TV/DVD
Player! - I’m very pleased with this player and it’s definitely
exceeded my expectations, I’d decided to upgrade to this after
I’d been disappointed with the poor performance of my previous
Bush 10” DVD Player. It’d taken away the enjoyment of watching my
DVDs as the picture and sound quality were inadequate and there
was very little that I could do to improve it, however the
enjoyment has since been re-fulfilled as I saw a significant
improvement in overall DVD playback using this player, especially
with the wide variety of settings that you can adjust to enhance
the quality. I’m really impressed with the equal high quality
performance in picture, sound and connection that each mode has
delivered and I haven’t encountered any problems whilst using
these. The TV (and Aerial) in particular has a strong signal that
quickly picked up quite a lot of good channels and has excellent
picture and sound quality. I haven't currently tried the AV as I
don't have much use for it but the USB and HDMI both worked very
well and are essential additions to the player, especially when
you want to watch something on YouTube, Streaming or even your
own downloaded music, video or picture files that aren't
available to watch on TV or DVD, I was very happy that I could
finally watch the whole series of Billy & Mandy that I'd
downloaded onto a USB! I’m glad that I chose this model as I was
initially torn between this multi-functional player or a 19” DVD
player that cost £10 more and didn’t have a TV mode. I prefer
having as many features as possible to use, especially seeing as
this is on the more expensive end of the portable DVD player
price range, it feels like I’ve really got my moneys worth being
able to do so many different things with it and I’ve enjoyed
having the vast choice between using the TV, DVD, CD, USB, AV &
HDMI functions. I've tried out several different DVD players and
this one has definitely been the perfect one for me and I hope
it'll last for a good while. I would highly recommend this player
as it’s an all round top quality, powerful product that’s great
to use, runs well and the general set up is pretty straight
forward, quick and hassle free, it’s well worth the money! Here’s
all the main pros and cons I’ve experienced whilst using this
player - Pros - - There’s a great variety of different modes that
all work very well and are easy to set up - There’s lots of
useful settings for each mode that you can fully personalise and
adjust to your viewing comfort - You can choose and create
different audio and picture settings for each mode and they won't
reset when you switch onto a different mode - The TV Setup was
quick and simple when the aerial was placed in a strong signal
area - The provided aerial is very good and quickly picked up a
good number of channels, holds a consistent strong signal and the
cable reaches a decent distance - The TV Channels are all in
order and easy to access and flick through - The sound quality is
fantastic across all modes, it’s very clear and loud, by far the
best I've ever heard on a portable player - The picture quality
is brilliant and high resolution, especially on TV and HDMI - The
DVD player IS multi region - The DVD playback is smooth,
faultless and runs quietly - I saw a big improvement in the
picture quality of DVDs that looked poor on other players when
adjusted in the settings - The screen size is perfect and
provides a great viewing experience - The rotating/folding screen
is great and adds to the portability as there's several ways that
you can comfortably watch it wherever you are - It comes with a
generous amount of good quality accessories - The HDMI and USB
both connected instantly and run fast with no lag or freeze - It
has a modern, clean, accessible design with large, clearly
labelled buttons under the screen - It’s a very lightweight and
portable build - All the ports are located down one side of the
player, making plugging in multiple cables at once easy Cons - -
Some of the buttons on the remote and player don’t work and are
useless - The energy rating is very low so it may cost a lot to
run when plugged in, especially for long periods of time - The
battery life only lasts around 1.5/2 hours (when using the TV) -
No HDMI cable is supplied - No SD Card option - USB only supports
up to 32gb - 2 USB Ports would've been better than 1 so I can
keep both the Aerial and USB Stick plugged in together at the
same time - The volume’s a bit too loud even at 1% on the TV &
HDMI modes which I can't seem to make any quieter so I
occasionally get woken up during the night when something extra
loud comes on - The DVD picture quality needed to be adjusted as
it was too sharp on the default setting and the quality does vary
depending on the DVD and TV channel - A few different colour
options to choose from like white, pink or blue would've been
good as the black looks quite basic - The lightness of the player
may compromise it's durability as it doesn't feel very tough and
may get damaged easily if it's not handled carefully
