Review: Excellent value - I play a lot of music – jazz, blues,
soul, funk, R & B, folk, some rock, anything that features a
kora, Bach and the baroque, whatever. I'm not an obsessive
audiophile but I do like things to sound just so, even though
this is sometimes complicated by the fact I've had tinnitus for
decades and so require a high degree of acoustical clarity to be
able to really hear things. My set-up is "affordable" – basic NAD
amp and CD player, small Q Acoustics speakers – and until
recently functioned reasonably well. And then, out of the blue,
there was distortion, random but persistent. I duly restripped
cable wires, swapped outputs, repositioned speakers and so on and
so forth. No improvement resulted, and so I concluded my cables
must be the problem. And thus it proved. I invested in these 15
metres of Javex wire and hey, everything sounds so very much
cleaner and clearer and I'm even getting some bass and treble
frequencies I wasn't before. (I'm of a certain age and so my
hearing is anyway fallible: bottom and top sometimes elude me.)
And nary a hint of distortion either. Furthermore, these cables
are quickly trimmed given their sheathing is more or less
rectangular rather than round, and their copper appears to be of
a very decent quality. They also come wound on a helpful reel,
which makes them so much easier to pay out and measure up. You
can, of course, pay an awful lot more for this sort of thing but
I'm now happily convinced you don't need to. This is a very good
product offered at a very reasonable price.

cable. I wish I had purchased this sooner. I am always trying to
better the sound on my system which I primarily use for vinyl. I
have made lots of upgrades to my system with a new cartridge
recently which made no difference. I almost gave up until I read
a great article on speaker cables, and after checking realised
mine were incorrect for the OHM of my speakers, so thought I
would give it a go as compared to some of the crazy prices quoted
for speaker cables this was very reasonable. Anyway I changed one
speaker first and simply turned the balance, you can clearly hear
the difference and even my wife commented and she thinks I'm
bonkers! Has improved the sound of my system hugely for such a
small cost. I recommend anyone looking to improve the sound of
your system, make sure your using the correct cable for your
speakers. Top marks.
