What's particularly impressive is how light it is for its capacity. You'll barely notice the weight in your rucksack. Finding something this portable at such a reasonable price is nice to see. Thanks to the broad base, heat from your camping stove is used efficiently, resulting in quick boiling times. On particularly lightweight stoves it does wobble a touch, though that's more down to the physics of the thing than any design flaw. My main criticism would be the spout - it's far too small, and I'd much prefer something more substantial for easier pouring. Where I do have concerns is with the handle assembly. It's secured with just a few rivets through some rather thin metal brackets. When you fill the kettle, these brackets flex noticeably, and if anything's likely to give way, it'll be this. That said, it's a fairly minor issue, and compromises are inevitable when keeping costs reasonable. What surprises me a bit are the cups. Given how light the kettle is, the cups are hefty, solid and feel like steel. These things are bulletproof. Normally that would be a good thing, but it's puzzling to have such a lightweight kettle and then throw in cups which weigh a ton. I suspect those are an after market addition given how jarring they are compared to the main kettle. If you are a backpacker, I'd keep your standard titanium/silicone cups and just by the kettle version. If you are a car camper/ in a caravan and want cups that you can't possibly destroy, then this might be for you. Despite their weight they're still not really big enough for a fully satisfying cuppa though.
