If you need something small, it will certainly work. It’s light enough for backpacking. Use what you need and leave what you don’t at home when backpacking to save weight. We are using it for a Scout with severe allergies to keep his food completely separate from the others. Treated properly, I expect it to last a while. The non-stick coating wouldn’t survive the whole troop but it will do well with someone who takes proper care of their things. (The patrols use indestructible cast iron. Lol) It also makes clean-up a breeze. Since this Scout will be supervised it’ll be ok. It packs up small for backpacking and won’t take up too much space in a camping kit.
