The DAC is a new R2R design, based on HiFiMANs beloved HIMALAYA R2R, providing a similar level of reference sound. Like its big brothers in HiFiMANs lineup, EF499 provides High and Low Gain options for the amplifier output, along with Oversampling or Non oversampling DAC processing options to let you find the sound thats best for you. Desktop Versatility For the standard DAC, you can connect via USB A, USB C, or digital coax, providing compatibility with a number of devices. Similarly, you can output to RCA or XLR, meaning EF499 can work with an external headphone amp or power amp.
