Review: Exactly what i needed , very happy with it - I am using
it with my tv and its going solid , i 'm totally loving it. Size
is small enough to hide it behind tv , has 16 gb memory ram which
gives it enough speed for watching youtube (ad free) or browse
internet . Set up was really easy if you know how to bypass
microsoft account . Noise level is quite enough that you would
even notice it . I bought one with 1 TB storage which is more
than enough . Summary- if you are like me who does not like
seeing ads almost every where than you can install adguard home
on this mini pc and block ads on your entire home network . For
youtube ads or streaming movies ,you can watch it either with
brave browser or google chrome with (u block origin) installed.
Or run your own private vpn, cloudflare tunnel , docker , linux
,vps. The list is endless .
Review: A cheap solution to work as a Media PC in sharing files.
- The model that I bought was an Intel N150 with 16GB of RAM and
Windows 11 pro. I did add a 1TB 2242 NVME drive, for storage. For
me this is being used as a Media PC in the loft, with a DAS
attached. So all the media stored on the DAS is then shared over
the 2.5GB LAN that this NUC is supplied with. The performance,
for my needs, is more than fine, running cheaply and cool. The
Windows 11, 25h2, allows me to use RDC from my main machine if
and when is needed. I use a schedule to wake the PC up to share
its media files, but it will also respond to a WOL, with magic
packets, to wake it on demand. The form factor, being so small,
is perfect. It is small, cool and just simply works. It did not
really need 16GB of RAM, but at the time it was cheap enough to
do that. Probably not so now. It uses a single SO-DIMM of DDR4
1.2v type. I have had no issues in running this mini PC as
described. The build quality seems great and it has not let me
down. Very happy.
