Review: Definite improvement on the Mk 2 - This vac came in a smaller than anticipated box but very well packed. Putting it together was nice and straight forward with no tools but I was a bit disappointed that the battery was not charged. However I clocked that it shared the same 22v AR2 battery as my now defunct Mk 2 and so was soon up and running with that whilst the new one charged. It soon became apparent that despite being physically pretty identical to it's predecessor apart from the snazzy white paint job, under the hood it is a lot more powerful. This does mean it requires more effort to push and pull and I'm sure my old mum would have struggled with this however it does do a better job of vacuuming which is what it's supposed to do. My carpets look great and the extra suction definitely helps pick up debris closer to the edge, especially useful in the kitchen. It even has cartridges to emit a nice smell but they don't last long frankly and the light is useful if you fancy doing the housework during a power cut at night I suppose. If you've not used an Air Ram before they are great, dead easy to use and also to store with the retractable handle. Emptying it is not a chore and they fold down really flat to get under furniture. Battery life is excellent, I can easily do my 3 bed house twice or so on a charge. You can remove the battery for easy counter top charging with the smart white adapter or park it next to a socket and do it that way if you prefer. Stairs aren't too difficult either if you're not too frail. If you can afford the extra then it is a definite improvement on the Mk 2 which did a very good job for me for many a year so happy days.
