They fit well (build well) with standard Lego plates, have great options for curves and intersections, and have enough studs along the sides for sidewalks or bike paths. There are videos on using these with the MILS standard, but I have not (yet?) switched to that baseplate-building approach. The detail is one-dimensional, but I don't think you really need more for a decent city build-out. I have been using these for a while and have had no issues with them. Great choice at a great price, and quick shipping.
