Review: Brand new - This is apparently second hand and
refurbished. I'm finding that hard to believe. The laptop is
absolutely immaculate. Not so much as a mark or abrasion anywhere
on it. It's hard to describe this but I'm sure some people will
understand. You know when you get something brand new and it has
that kind of texture when you run your fingers over it, that
completely fresh and untouched texture that goes away after it's
been touched and handled for a while? That's what this laptop is
like, even the trackpad and keyboard keys, It doesn't just look
like it's never been touched, it feels like it too. It's almost
as if they took a brand new laptop out of it's box, shoved it in
a generic tatty box and sold it for half the price haha. That's
not to say it wasn't packaged well because it was. Even all the
ports feel like nothing has ever been plugged in to them. You
know when you have a nice fresh, tight port, before it gets
looser the more you shove stuff in to it? 😂 Well again, that's
what these are like. Nice and tight.... The battery from what I
can tell has not aged at all, three hours screen on time so far
just setting it up, downloading apps, uninstalling bloatware,
even about 40 mins of watching YouTube on my Xreal Ones plugged
in to the laptop and browsing the internet and stuff. Still at
70%. My only complaint is not worth dropping a star considering
how quickly I rectified it: It hadn't been factory reset. Why?
Who knows. You'd expect to turn it on and be straight on the
Windows set up screen but it booted straight in to Windows with
an account named "abc" already on there. No personal data or apps
or anything but not great because anything could have been
installed without me knowing. So immediately did a factory reset
and reinstalled Windows. Took 15 mins so hardly an issue. The
laptop itself is great, it's an old one but looks as modern as
anything being made now. And with 16gb or ram and an i5, it's a
pleasure to use, super smooth, no lag or hangs. Such a good
laptop. I work from home for the NHS and had this laptop for the
last two years, they just upgraded us to brand new ones and I
swapped mine out a couple weeks ago so I knew this was a decent
laptop already when I ordered it. (I needed another as we can't
use our work one for anything personal) The main reason I got
this is for my Xreal One AR glasses, they're good connected to my
phone, especially with Samsung DEX, but connected to a PC they're
phenomenal, so much more freedom. The other use was to connect to
my projector for playing YouTube and other stuff I watch so the
laptop will stay closed and can be switched on by either turning
on my projector or Xreal glasses and controlled with an air
mouse. So yeah, it does everything I want, and does it really
well. I paid for a second hand laptop, I got a brand new one. If
the sellers read this. Factory reset your devices and then shut
them down before sale please. That way we can go through the
Windows setup and choose the options we want which are quite
important. A reset doesn't take too long with a quick laptop with
an SSD, but there's no reason for you to make that necessary.
That aside, thank you for the brand new laptop.
Review: Amazing little laptop which surprised me positively - I'm
very satisfied with this laptop. It came in pristine condition
and very well boxed. It was very easy to set up. It performs
really well, especially since i swapped the installed 16gb memory
with the 32gb from my old laptop. Since then it has been running
really smoothly and very silenced. Especially if you compare it
with my old Asus TUF. So, I'm very satisfied with it's speed and
its screen its basic, but the colours seem accurate but the light
is more dim that I'd want. I don't mind though as I've connected
other screens which i mainly use. I can't really say much about
it's battery life as i kinda use it as a desktop. Overall, I
would recommend this laptop especially at the very attractive
price.
