Adidas was founded in Herzogenaurach, Germany in 1949. The company’s founder, Adolf “Adi” Dassler, used his own name to create the name “Adidas”; he also registered the brand’s three-stripe logo that year. In its early years Adidas concentrated on making high-performance footwear for football players. It later branched out to providing shoes and equipment for other sports, and by the 1980s its products were also highly popular as streetwear. Its fragrances have names that reflect the company’s history as a pioneer of athletics wear, including Action, Move, Team Force, Adventure and Champions League.
