Review: Mattel is taking an initiative in diversifying their
dolls . . . - Doll No 229: I am truly loving the fact that Mattel
is taking an initiative in diversifying their dolls in a way to
educate kids and to also promote self confidence in adults by
making them feel inclusive through theirs range of extending
products. I feel very motivated to support their cause. Prior to
this one, last year I had purchased another ndss doll that was
Caucasian, but this year with the release of the Coloured one,
the doll instantly went into my wishlist untill I found a great
discount on it. Another feature which acts as a bonus to this
particular one, is the rare braided hair which I always wanted to
add in my collection and it makes this petite doll more unique
than ever! To add to this, the doll possesses a very happy
bliss-bestowing-smile. So, thankyou desertcart and a heartfelt
thanks as well to the seller; I'll be certainly returning back to
explore for more offers from you. Doll No 218: This doll simply
stole my heart at the first glance of its exuberance that it
emits so casually in representing the Rainbow Community without
even mentioning it. And to add, when received, I remained
completely mesmerised by its split shaded honey/sky blue eyes.
That two toned white and blue hair also compliments its eager
looking face sculpt and in an effort to diversify it more, Mattel
has incorporated the curvy body with a lovely beach tan. The doll
wears a hefty set of intricately detailed bright-pink sturdy
shoes, and the only accessory it comes with is that long golden
chain to hang below-chest a seemingly heavy circular
gold-pendant. This beautiful Feminine figure, in fact looks like
a mermaid, as if come out of water, full in prep to explore hers
terrestrial longings on feet! Moreover, on the cover by inside, I
saw a small picture down, of the original 1984 sports Barbie
which this one has taken its inspiration from. And the
inscription under it, mentions this make to be of the Barbie's 65
years of a 'future shaping' celebration range. This particular
one's reboot seems to have gone really well, as the outfit also
is truly wonderful, making the whole getup absolutely inviting to
the eyes, because of which the doll stands out to me personally
as a Collector one; that too at such an affordable half price,
the seller had offered during the time of my purchase. This
Barbie model has "inspiringly" got me awestruck. Doll No 228:
Mattel has impressively raised its bar quite high recently with
the launch of this one. I went through a couple of YouTube videos
in which reviewers with varying levels of vision loss, seemed in
awe absolutely admiring the brand's effort of representing them.
By becoming this intensively inclusive towards expressing
acceptance of diversity in their professional ethics of doll
making, they have begun to win many hearts of disabled
individuals. This forward change in theirs new customer reaching
phase will certainly be a self confidence building step for the
kids dealing with such life challenges of the new generation.
Reviewing from my personal side, when I received the doll, I just
fell in love with this doll's lucious deep golden-brown hair. The
multiracial face sculpt is a beautified success and the subtle
gender-blending pink and blue all-decades identifying dress is
refreshingly Feminine! With the least amount of simplistic
makeup, the figure possesses a neutral skin tone that anyone
could relate with, without falling into any mental debate on
likely type-baised discrimination. This AFB doll comes across
very organic; in simple terms an all rounder for all to befriend
her. And what struck me the most was the lovingly crafted display
box. For an ease of opening for the visually impaired customers,
they have provided the lower back of the cover with a neatly
carved-in cavity for the fingers to slide in efficiently. And
there's a write-up in Braille on the lower front below the
heading "Expanding possibilities for people with vision loss". I
found these two features just heartwarming and genuinely caring.
These are all the wonderful traits of empathy. And an hassle-free
Mattel has once again, done it. Doll No 215: This doll was on my
wishlist for a year but I was waiting for its price to drop down
for its overall simplicity. Although, after a wonderful discount
a year later when I finally received this gorgeous and bold
looking latina, I felt a great sense of relief as I realised how
much I was longing for it! Besides, that starry pink top, the
color-stained skirt, those shiny white stiletto-heeled boots and
this thick lavender cuff-bracelet on one hand is top class; the
attire taking its inspiration from the original 1986 'trendy'
release, as the inner side of the display box visually mentions
on it. The doll's hair is also supersoft. But the display box of
this figure was opened up from above which I easily refixed with
a little piece of tape.
Review: Very cute girl - Very nice quality and dress and hair
supersoft
