"King of Tokyo: Origins" is designed for 2-4 players, each taking the role of a powerful monster. The goal is simple: become the last survivor or reach 20 victory points. Each player starts with 10 life and 0 victory points, and must roll dice to complete different actions: attack other monsters, heal his wounds or accumulate energy cubes to buy special powers cards. A new starting point for the King of Tokyo universe! King of Tokyo: Origins is an indie game from the King of Tokyo lineup primarily designed to serve as an entry point for new players, with a more compact version of King of Tokyo. The game includes four new monsters, an assortment of new power cards mixed with old ones, energy cubes and green dice with yellow inlays. 100% King of Tokyo! The gameplay remains the same as in the original game: To win, you have to be the first to score 20 victory points, or be the only creature still standing. The board represents Tokyo City, and the first player to enter Tokyo starts earning additional victory points in each round. However, being in Tokyo also means being the target of all other monsters. Every decision, every roll of dice can rock the game in your favor or cause your defeat. Take control of Tokyo, but beware, being at the top has its price! On each turn, you roll six dice, which display the following six symbols: 1, 2, or 3 points, energy, healing, and attack. In three consecutive throws, choose to hold or discard each die in order to earn points, gain energy, restore life points, or attack other players. When you attack, if you are outside Tokyo, you hit the one in Tokyo; if you are in Tokyo, you hit all the other players! If a player's health drops to 0, he is out of play. (You can't heal the damage while you're in Tokyo, and the only way to leave the city is to get attacked by someone… which may put you safe from death.) When you gain energy, you store it in cubes, which you can use to buy power cards, which have a permanent or temporary effect and give you special abilities to strengthen your monsters!
