I bought the 6 cup first I could get 2 cups of coffee out of it, but it was to small, and awkward to use/clean. I sent the 6C back and bought the 9 cup which I’m very happy I did. I can get two full cups of coffee out of it plus I have enough coffee to make a iced vanilla coffee at night or make a little bit more if I have company. The 6th cup is nice. Don’t get me wrong, but it’s too small for my needs. Percolation I use about two level tablespoons of coffee. I start out on high on an electric stove, once it starts percolating pretty good (even though the water is still) turn it down to 3 or even 2.5 let it perk real slow until it looks like coffee/stops .. then turn it down on simmer just to keep it hot so that it doesn’t burn, because yes coffee will burn and taste terrible. Hope this helps some of you that I saw say that you never made percolated coffee before. This one is easier to handle and clean up is a breeze.
