And also, you can use the wire toner to find a intermittent circuit problem. Just flexing wires or connectors, and then you will hear that there is a change in the receiver tone. Short & Open Finder Circuit Tester: In CONT mode, you can check the short circuit and open circuit in the line. The attached RJ11 connector allows you to easily test the telephone system (in CONT mode, you need to use two alligator clips). Tone Tracing Probe Kit: In TONE mode, you can quickly track cables passing through ceilings, under floors, interior wall barriers, etc., without the risk of not knowing the exact location of the wires (only one alligator clip is used in TONE mode).
