Review: Excellent - Great product. Suitable for preschool Review: Vibrant educational toddler jigsaw - I purchased this jigsaw for my daughter’s second birthday and it has been a hit. She loves the bright and colourful pictures of favourite animals. It’s also a lovely size, it’s really big (bigger than her other jigsaws) which makes it feel like a fun project to work on together. The pieces slot together well, so it’s nice and easy for her to do it. The pieces also feel sturdy, though the storage box is a little less so, though this isn’t a deal breaker. I love the educational component of the jigsaw too. It gives her good exposure to number shapes and also number concepts, with appropriate quantities of animals to represent each number. I suspect she will gain more and more from this as she gets older. There’s also the opportunity for some nice learning around colours (including dark and light versions of some colours). The assembling of the jigsaw is also nicely scaffolded for younger toddlers; the puzzle comes with a to-scale poster of the puzzle (see my picture). This has been great for helping my daughter to get the pieces in the right place. I’m sure the initial act of matching the pieces to the poster will help her with the ultimate learning of the ordering of numbers. My one very teeny gripe is that the pieces don’t stay together particularly well; if the puzzle gets knocked more than just a slight nudge some pieces will come apart. This hasn’t bothered my daughter though, it never stays assembled for long anyway.
