MSI PRO MP273U - 27 Inches 3840 x 2160

Review: MSI PRO MP273U 27 Inch UHD Office Monitor - There seem to be reviews for several variations of this item. below is the panel I am writing about - my comments may apply to other models but I'm not sure. MSI PRO MP273U 27 Inch UHD Office Monitor - 3840 x 2160 IPS Panel, PIP/PBP, Wide Color Gamut, Eye-Friendly Screen, Built-in Speakers, Tilt-Adjustable - HDMI 2.0b, DP (1.4a) Firstly I purchased this item without much research because I had damaged my Dell 4k monitor and required a quick replacement. My hobby is photography and once I had satsfied myself that this monitor had the color specs I wanted I just hit the buy button. In any event its arrived in less than 24 hours, came well packaged and in good order. First some negatives and these are what I miss from the more expensive Dell and not a reflection on the quality of this product. 1. There is no vertical adjustent on the monitor. I had assumed for a 4K monitor that makes a thing about eye strain and ergonomics that the thing would move up and down - but it doesnt. Is it a deal breaker, well no. Its just that I do not recall using any monitor without a height adjustment so it feels like a cheapo/budget/low end item. 2. There is no USB USB port to providing a charging option for a phone or other devices. Again - its not a deal breaker but something I made use of with the Dell and no longer have. It just seems odd that the monitor has a location to fit a kensington security lock on the rear of the panel - which I guess no one will ever use and no bludy USB! 3. The buttons for adjusting the screen display settings feel cheap. I mean hard plastic and very "clicky". But you wont be using them everyday and I guess someone in the design meeting wanted to save 2 cents and annoy every customer on day one whose first experiance of MSi is trying to adjust the monitor height and display settings. Incidentally the display settings are comprehensive but I guarantee you will have a pleasant half hour trying to navigate around them. POSITIVES You have to consider the price. I cant tell the difference beween this and my more expensive Dell which if available to day would probably be 50% more expensive. I ran a color calibration on the screen and had no problem setting up a profile for photo editing. So i summary the thing I'm actually going to be looking at, the panel is good. If you can overlook some of the cost cutting then you will have some spare cash in your pocket to spend on a book or two to stand the monitor on and a USB hub to charge your desktop devices. It just maybe that the books and the device last longer than the panel - lets see...But I give it 5stars because what was advertised was what I received, everything that i have tried works except that MSI's desktop software (MSI Display Kit) that can save some contact with the nasty buttons was a)hard to find and b)hard to download as google was very scared of the content being pushed down to me, so I'm probably being remotely monitored in Shenzhen right now.
