Does hurt your knuckles sometimes when the knocks don't register to se free your fairy. It did also get tangled in my daughtes hair which led to an impromptu hair cut as it was really tangled in there. They wings did eventually pop off although they oushnin after a few times if that happening they don't really stay in well which stops your fairy from "flying" properly, that said though it is a great fun toy.
