10mm Dynamic Driver with Precise Acoustic Control
Rather than using fashionable diaphragm materials, KZ EDCX employs a carefully optimized 6-micron PET diaphragm paired with a four-layer voice coil to improve output performance. Multiple acoustic parameters have been finely adjusted, including:
• Voice coil height to accurately position high-frequency formants
• Damping to control low-frequency sensitivity
• Driver cover aperture size to manage ultra-high-frequency extension
• Internal cavity volume compression to control the 2–3 kHz region and assist ultra-high-frequency tuning
Through these refinements and extensive comparison of frequency response curves and distortion data, KZ EDCX achieves performance capable of competing with high-priced “professional” dynamic Hi-Fi earphones.
U-Shaped Tuning Inspired by High-End Hi-Fi
KZ EDCX adopts a U-shaped tuning profile favored by many Hi-Fi enthusiasts and aligned with the Harman curve. This tuning enhances both low and high frequencies while maintaining clear separation across the spectrum. Even at higher volumes, bass remains controlled and detailed, while vocals and instruments stay distinct, with approximately a 10dB sensitivity difference between mid and high frequencies for improved clarity and layering.

Frequency response data is measured by the KZ Acoustics Laboratory. Actual listening results may vary slightly depending on usage conditions and equipment.
