WireGuard is based on a concept called Cryptokey Routing. It’s a much faster security protocol than OpenVPN; WireGuard VPN can clock 65Mbps, compared to OpenVPN that can only hit 12Mbps.

Opal supports four connection modes for flexible internet access. Repeater mode extends public Wi-Fi networks, such as those in hotels and airports, into a private and secure connection. Tethering mode allows you to connect a smartphone to share its mobile data. Ethernet mode provides a stable internet connection using the built-in Ethernet ports. Cellular mode enables internet access by connecting a cellular-based USB modem to the router's USB port.
【Troubleshooting Tips】
If Opal is unable to connect to a Wi-Fi network, please check the following: ensure that the Wi-Fi password is correct and that the network does not require additional login authentication; verify that the router is within range of the Wi-Fi source; make sure the correct Wi-Fi band (2.4GHz or 5GHz) is selected for the connection. Opal Comes with a Pre-installed VPN server and client functions in WireGuard and OpenVPN. With Opal, you can bring all your workplaces together with a single, secure private cloud with OpenVPN or WireGuard. Don’t worry about changing your network when you change your workplace. You won’t need to reconfigure and reconnect all your devices as well; they’ll all connect automatically each time you fire up your Opal. In general, most of the Free Public Wi-Fi hotspots set a time limit for users, which will disconnect your devices once the time is over. To deal with this situation, please reconnect your router to the wifi.
