Review: Great all in one so far! - I’m so glad I bought this one!
Perfect all in one. Overall, I gave it 5 stars because it does
what I needed it to. However, there are some possible reasons why
this wouldn’t be great for everyone… **Food** It made crispier
chicken wings than any other air fryer we’ve tried! So far I’ve
used it as a toaster oven, convection oven, and air fryer and
have no complaints at all. It’s all come out amazing.
**Rotisserie** the rotisserie feature gets the most complaints in
the reviews. I have not used this, nor do I plan to. I agree with
the reviews and do think it’s large enough for cuts of meat or
chickens over 5lbs **Size** Measure the space you want it in
first. It might be a little large for small apartments or homes
with little counter space. It fit perfectly height wise, where
our 10 year old XL Ninja large air fryer was, but it is a bit
wider and sticks out a bit more. If I had a small space, I would
use this instead of a toaster and air fryer. It’s also great as
an extra convection oven to bake and broil. It can NOT replace a
range top. It also smokes a little with greasy things like
chicken wings. The built in fan works, but can’t completely keep
up. It might set off fire alarms in small spaces. **Aesthetics**
It’s a beautiful appliance and easy to clean. I would clean the
racks after each use and wipe down the inside at least once a
week. Don’t use soap unless you need to. Follow the instructions
in the manual. **Ease of Use** I recommend reading the user
manual thoroughly to get the best use out of it. It’s easy to
use, but the little cookbook with it sucks. The manual has the
best tips and usage instructions. **Safety** this appliance works
just like a conventional oven. There’s nothing stopping the
cooking process when the doors are open. It gets super hot and
can smoke when cooking greasy food. It has a fan, but it’s
important to pause the appliance before opening the doors. I
actually wouldn’t get this if I had little kids who could reach
the counter top, or young ones who aren’t responsible. The doors
are easily opened with little to no effort, and both open at the
same time. The doors are spring loaded and will slam shut if not
opened all of the way. It wouldn’t cut anyone’s finger off, but
it might hurt a little. It also gets hot all over the outside.
Not enough for a serious burn, but hot enough to hurt little
fingers.
Review: BAM! A great upgrade from a toaster - When our $10
toaster stopped working, we took it as a chance to upgrade to at
least a toaster oven. Our research led us to go even beyond that
to this Emeril Lagasse air fryer/toaster oven combo. It was
middle of the road pricewise, was the size we were looking for
and liked the idea of the French Doors. We have now had it for a
couple of months and with any new toy we have tried to use it as
much as possible and fine it works well for air frying, baking,
and toasting. Chicken wings and fried chicken have been our
favorite so far as this air fryer provides the perfect crispy
taste, much improved from our small air fryer we had, our normal
conventional oven, or pan frying. The unit is large enough to
handle cooking a frozen pizza, and the crust had a crispier taste
than the oven. We like that we don’t have to heat up our full
sized oven for this and find it has been quicker for some meals.
The unit is a good size for 2 people, but if you were looking to
use for a larger family, you will have to cook in batches or use
it in conjunction with your normal oven or other means. The
preset setting helps take the guesswork out and give a good
starting point for most items you cook. There is a timer that is
programmed to go off halfway through the cooking process (for air
frying and baking) to alert you for flipping or rotating your
food and this is helpful. The unit came with an air fry basket,
grilling pan, cooking sheet, rack, and a rotisserie attachment. I
suggest if using the rack or air fry basket to also put the
cooking sheet below in order to help catch any crumbs, oils,
liquids that may drop during the cooking process so it doesn’t
fall on the heating elements. We had some breading fall on the
heating elements during cooking, and although no issues with our
meal, it gave off a burnt smell as the breading coated the
elements and burned. After the unit cooled, the material was easy
to clean off, but nobody likes a burnt smell while cooking. We
have not tried the rotisserie attachment yet, so cannot give any
input on how that works, but are excited to try that out in the
future. The vents off the back and top of the unit provide the
right amount of venting, and the unit heats up and cools down
fairly quickly. The noise generated by the vent is much quieter
than the much smaller tray style air fryer we have, which is a
plus. I would recommend this to anyone looking for a toaster
oven/air fryer combo. It has been a great addition to our kitchen
and does not take up that much more counter space than a simple
toaster. The unit is also very light, so it could be stored out
of sight if you had a cabinet or closet big enough and pulled out
only when you want to use it. The stainless design with the
French doors looks neat and elegant though to leave out if you
have the space.
